The cachet types

Types, according the inner circle text and appearance of the seals
The seals consist of an outer ring normally containing the designation of the army unit or organisation and in the central part an inscription or the first Coat of Arms of Latvia.
Often the inner circle text was completed with some ornament, dotted or whole line and also crossed gun barrels (artillery units), in most cases below the text.
We categorize the Latvian military unit cachets by the content of their inner circle:

Type 1 - 1st Coat of Arms of Latvia

Type 1x - Coat of Arms of Latvia with crossed gun barrels below or over crossed anchors



Type 2 - Company, Battalion or other Military unit designation, or designation of the  Chief of Staff, often with different ornaments or for artillery units with crossed gun barrels below
