1st generation: 1920 - 1929.

As in the time prior to 1917 the months appear in the circular date stamps in Roman ciphers.

The segments of the circular date stamps of machine "A" and "B" are the two first years empty. Later on machine "A" has at first 7 bars in the segments but from 1927 there are 9 bars (M-04-A). Machine "B" has 9 bars in the segments already from 1922 (M-08-B).

The spelling of "LATVIJA" is in the "new orthography" for the machine "A" but in the "old orthography" for machine "B" the first years until the end of 1922 with the spelling "LATWIJA".
