Cancellating machine at Cēsis

 

This canceller is arranged like a hand-roller. However, the seen impressions of the cancellations are so straight that they hardly can be applied by hand. Therefore it must have been about a semi-automatic cancellating machine, eventually with an endless band.

Soviet Latvian Republic period machine cancellations

In the beginning of this period the circular date stamps of the until then used Latvian ones were used. 

 

Later on new ones completed with CCCP (SSSR for the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics) + the hammer and sickle within a star and Riga written in both Russian and Latvian.
